Its vertical us retains

“His vertical holds usor they lift us to his slopeswhich we three climb back upin Passion or delight. We never reach it, butin dreaming we possess it.” "His vertical holds us" In 1849, the French geologist Pedro José Amado Pissis began studying the Chilean territory, giving rise to his book Geografía física de la República de Chile (Physical Geography of the Republic of Chile). Over the course of 20 years, he conducted a thorough exploration of the Chilean territory, highlighting the Andes Mountain Range and its complex system of lines defined by the infinity of summits. Inspired by this observation, I have recorded the crossing of the mountain range continuously, creating a comprehensive archive that supports much of my work and proposal for this project. The Andes Mountain Range is the backbone that structures the South American continent. It holds our vigilance and, through its tectonic layers, forces us to remain alert; it contains, delimits, orients, and defines the possibilities of inhabiting. In itself, it is an ecosystem in resistance with which we identify, both as landscape and territory, sealing a symbol and a poetics. At COP25, the world will be observed from our territory. The Andes is an opportune metaphor that suggests a compelling symbol, but also an opportunity to recognize ourselves in the fragility of our ephemeral occupation. Showing it to the world in its magnitude will allow us to contribute to forms of representation in the new conceptions of a more sustainable world. The Artwork The Bicentennial Park of Cerrillos has the privilege of offering a panoramic view of the Andes in all its dimension, allowing us to rethink the mountain range from a poetic perspective. By bringing together the summit profiles drawn by Pissis and intersecting them with this panoramic view of the mountain range, a shift occurs. From this gesture, the vertical installation of the profiles emerges. From a distance, fine lines will be observed; as we approach, it evokes the idea of a forest; as we move along the various points of its outline, a vibration will be produced by the rhythm between the profiles. The visitor will be able to cross the series of mountain range lines, becoming part of the confluence between the horizontality and verticality of the mountains, inviting them to traverse our own geographic boundary. The Andes Mountain Range will serve as a reference to understand that it is not enough to observe the planet; we must enter it, root ourselves in it to comprehend its profound dimension in the use of energies, awareness, and a commitment to the environmental issues of our shared home.

Patrícia Cunha and the collective of artists Impactplan art productions

My heart is... Rosé

"My Heart Is" is a stunning art installation created for the rosé wine festival "Just Rosé" in Sanary-sur-Mer, south of France, in 2023. This piece, conceived by Patrícia Cunha and her collective Impactplan Art Productions, is a visual tribute to love, art, and the celebration of local culture. Made up of an impressive 110,000 hearts using opaque and translucid materials, connected to each other one by one by local artisans, the installation transforms the city into a magical environment evoking the famous French saying "La vie en Rose" . In daylight, the hearts reflect and refract light in unique ways, creating a spectacle that "paints" the floor and walls without the use of paint, instead drawing heart-shaped patterns on the surroundings and on people walking under this enormous heart sky, through dynamic reflections. Beyond its technical and artisanal beauty, "My Heart Is" perfectly blends art with the spirit of the festival, highlighting the delicacy and symbolism that rosé wine inspires. Whether by day or night, the installation offers a visual and emotional experience that captures the essence of both the city and the event. With this creation, Impactplan Art Productions reaffirms its commitment to bringing handcrafted art that makes a global impact and creates lasting emotional connections with the audience.

Monarchs

The design features soaring towers of plywood strips atop geometric 3D-printed concrete bases, which visitors can pass underneath and into. The structures range from 35 to 71 feet (10 to 21 metres) tall and are spaced about 100 feet (30 metres) apart. Clad in gradients of blue and oranges, "vibrant light effects" at night cast the towers in various shades. "Monarchs: A House in Six Parts playfully explores the possibilities of 3-D printing concrete and digitally fabricating lightweight, structurally efficient wood in new architectural design and construction," said the team.
