说明:
When thinking about residential design, it is essential to consider the relationship between public and private boundaries, as well as where the family will find their sense of belonging.   In "Dwelling in the Rhythm of the Terrain," the journey from the hilly streets to the home is envisioned as a series of undulating paths. This design encourages a gradual transition from the more public lower levels, which connect to the neighborhood, to increasingly private spaces as one ascends to the main living areas.   The site features a height difference of approximately 4.9 meters and is located in a low-rise residential area to the north. By considering the uneven terrain, surrounding topography, and sunlight exposure for the northern units, the design introduces movement and variation throughout the house. This approach aims to create unique spaces that have their own charm while maintaining a harmonious overall feel. The structure is designed to manage the earth pressure created by the height difference, allowing for the removal of the existing retaining wall, which alleviates any sense of confinement in the streetscape and reduces pressure on the neighborhood through gentle slopes and setbacks.   As visitors ascend the stairs and open the front door, they are welcomed into a slightly dim entrance hall that faces the courtyard. Moving through this space, they arrive at the living room, where large windows frame the lush garden, providing a sense of connection with nature and the changing seasons. This open area connects to the spiral layout of the other rooms, enhancing the overall sense of unity and dynamism within the home.   The basement is designed for versatility, allowing it to serve as a garage, market, shop, or even a living space for retirement, enabling it to adapt to the changing lifestyles of its residents. The structure centers around the living room as its core, utilizing a reinforced concrete frame with flat columns and incorporating large openings, height variations, and cantilevers for greater flexibility. Additionally, external insulation allows the reinforced concrete interior to retain heat, creating a comfortable thermal environment while streamlining the design, structure, and facilities.   Through the thoughtful arrangement of these distinct spaces, which gradually evolve based on their locations, we hope to enrich the lives of the residents and create a home that feels emotionally resonant and inviting.
